Nationwide, the average annual salary for an experienced ecommerce director is $149,552, according to employment data from Zippia.com. Salary ranges for these positions typically fall between $95,000 and $234,000 per year, with an average hourly rate of $71.90.

Location, education, and experience influence salaries for ecommerce directors, with Rhode Island offering the highest average pay for the role. Experience levels also contribute to salary variation:

  • Entry-level (0-2 years): Average salary of $111,019.
  • Mid-career (3-6 years): Average salary of $149,552.
  • Senior level (7-12 years): Average salary of $269,750.

On average, it takes 9-10 years to become a director of ecommerce, according to Zippia.
