Over the past several years, Parts Town Unlimited has boosted its reputation for innovation as a digital company as its sales have surged past $2 billion.
Now the food-service and HVAC parts distributor is targeting further innovation-sparked growth with a new chief strategy and operations officer.
Chris Dacey, who has worked with Parts Town Unlimited for over a dozen years as a partner at private equity firm Berkshire Partners, has joined the distribution company as chief strategy and innovation officer.
Steve Snower, CEO of Parts Town Unlimited, says Dacey’s “knowledge of our business at Parts Town Unlimited, paired with his strategy, operations and financial experience, will help us continue to strengthen our strategic planning and execution to further accelerate growth and innovation.”
Snower notes that Dacey, who also carries the Parts Town title “keeper of the compass,” bring exceptional experience from his time at Berkshire Partners, which has been one of Parts Town Unlimited’s lead private equity sponsors since 2016.
“After partnering closely with Chris for the past six years during his time at Berkshire, it was natural to have him join us officially,” Snower adds. “Chris has worked successfully with our team on strategic planning, acquisitions, and major projects over the past several years.”
Dacey brings to Parts Town more than 30 years of business strategy and operating experience. In addition to 13 years as an operating partner at Berkshire working with several companies, he has served as the chief strategy officer at the Houston Rockets and in leadership roles at management consulting firms The Parthenon Group and KPMG. (The Parthenon Group now operates as EY-Parthenon, the global strategy consulting unit of EY.)
Dacey’s hiring follows Parts Town Unlimited appointment in September of Jamie Head, former chief digital officer of Ocean Spray Cranberries, as chief information officer.
